JCI climbs 1.14% at midday, led by BRI

JAKARTA: Jakarta Composite Index (JCI) advanced by 40.56 points or 1.14% to close at 3,587.81 at lunch break today.
The index moved within the range of 3,547.98-3,589.55. Of 412 shares listed in the index, 145 shares rose, 47 shares fell and 220 shares did not experience price changes.
Individually, PT Bank Rakyat Indonesia became the motor of the gain in the index by contributing as much as 4.48 points, followed by PT XL Axiata with 2.60 points, PT Bayan Resources with 2.24 points, and PT Perusahaan Gas Negara with 2.22 points.
The shares weighing on the index by giving negative contributions included PT Bank Central Asia with 1.49 points, PT Telekomunikasi Indonesia with 1.23 points, PT Gudang Garam with 0.59 points and PT Indofood CBP Sukses Makmur with 0.36 points.
The gain in the index was reflected on positive moves of all nine sectors in Indonesia Stock Exchange.
Financial sector led the index\’s movement by giving 20.56%, followed by infrastructure, utility and transportation with 17.86%, mining with 17.65%, basic industry and chemical with 11.57%, agriculture with 9.48%, trade and service with 7.75%, consumer goods with 5.42%, construction, property and real estate with 3.64% and miscellaneous industry with 3.60%.
BISNIS-27 Index also posted a hike as much as 2.75 points or 0.86% to close at 322.28 at midday break. It moved within the range of 319.63-322.45. (T04/NOM)
